I kept hearing that Chickering might not have half day Wednesdays anymore.... and here is this week's Principal's Letter confirming that it was approved at the 2/24/09 School Committee Meeting.
The key section of the letter:
"At the February 24 School Committee meeting the board voted unanimously to approve the Time-On-Learning increase for next year. As a result, we will reduce the number of early release Wednesdays from 39 to 22 and gain approximately 40 instructional hours for our students in first-fifth grades. We will follow an every other week format identical to the schedule of Pine Hill Elementary in Sherborn. Kindergarten students will still have early release days on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays."
