Library Databases:
The Dover Library has access to a bunch of kids databases that are perfect for the elementary school projects - including the World Book Online! You can even access them from home. You need to have a Dover (or another metrowest town) Library Card. Follow these instructions to access them from home:
- Enter your library card number (bar code) under "For Instant Database Access" and you will have free access to the following research databases for kids. Great for projects on dinosaurs, planets, countries and more!
World Book Online (Includes a great World Book for Kids section - great country and dinosaur facts) World Book Online contains all articles from the print edition plus links to thousands of editor-approved Web sites, periodical articles related to subjects within World Book, pictures, maps, videos, animations, and sounds. Info Trac Junior Edition (grades 5-12) Mainly full-text magazines, newspapers and reference books for junior high and middle school students covering current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more.
Kids InfoBits : Covering 75 full-text curriculum-related magazines and 7 reference books, InfoBits targets the research needs of K- 5 students. It features a developmentally appropriate and visual graphic interface and a subject-based topic tree search.
