Plumfield Fun Week! For ages 8 to 12 Join us for a week of fun during April school vacation! Try your hand at activities popular with Louisa May Alcott and her sisters. Our trained staff will help you act, write, make a craft, and draw just like the Alcott girls -- the real-life models for “Meg,” “Jo,” “Beth,” and “Amy”! based at Warren Recreation Center where we will venture

hands-on exploration, active movement and play, crafts,
stories, and songs with our integrated curriculum. A snack
will be provided each day, as well as a take-home craft and
handout with additional activities and information to extend
learning and nature discovery into your home.

Intro to  Musical Theater

Instructor:  South Shore Performing Arts
Join our production of scenes from Hairspray. Participants
may lip sync or sing to the songs that are used.  Our goal is
to educate children as to what goes into the production of a
musical.  Parents may wish to make a costume for their child
but it is not required.  In order to put on a show like this each
participant needs to attend the entire 4 days.  Participants
need not have dance or theatrical experience.  The session
will end with a performance at the Warren Building Gym on
Friday, February 20th at 4pm.  Please bring a lunch and
beverage each day.

FEBRUARY SCHOOL VACATION WEEK

AHEAD OF THE GAME ALL STARS
Tuesday, February 17- The staff from Ahead of the Game will provide a safe, positive experience for children through sports and fitness activities. Non-Competitive games, unique arts and crafts projects, and quiet games will be played. Everyone can be an All Star!

WINGS AND THINGS
Wednesday, February 18- Nature crafts, and a nature hike along with nature themed games. You will also have the chance to meet North American birds of prey, including screech owls, horned owls, and more. Wingmasters will help children learn about and respect birds of all kinds.

INDOOR TROPICAL GETAWAY
Thursday, February 19- Get out of the cold and come enjoy an indoor tropical getaway day filled with cool beach crafts and fun beach games. Limbo contests, rock & shell art, fishing games, mini paper surfboarders, beach ball volleyball and more.

Enviromania (Pre-K to 2nd graders)

Pre-K to 2nd graders can join the multi-talented and experienced staff at Hale Reservation for an exciting indoor and outdoor nature exploration program. Children will learn about animals and their habitats. They will also get a chance to do some tracking and look for signs of spring.

Along with nature exploration each day the kids will play games and sports, do arts and crafts and try out a few science experiments.

Nuts for Nature

Nuts for Nature is a nature based preschool program integrating outdoor exploration with games, crafts, songs, dance and/or stories run by Janey Fryer of Dover.  The purpose of the program is to expose children to nature in their backyard, i.e. town, through high quality, educational and fun nature curriculum.  With an experienced naturalist and educator, children will be engaged in the outdoors through hands on activities involving sensatory exploration. 

In addition to classes, Nuts for Nature also offers nature birthday parties & vacation programs.  Choose from a number of fun and educational themes (fairies in nature, insects, butterflies, birds, a spider’s tea party, etc.) to get your preschooler ready to party!!

Zig Zag Zone in Milford, MA

This Zig Zag Zone at John Smith Sports in Milford looks like great fun.

This soft indoor playground is for kids 1-12 years old.

Maple Magic Day at Natick Community Organic Farm

From now until about mid-March, the sap will be collected and brought to the farm’s sugar shack, where the sap will be boiled down and turned into something that makes pancakes, waffles and French toast all the more special. Seeing the process from bucket to bottle will be a part of the Maple Magic Day set for Saturday, March 3, at the farm from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Create a Cook in Newton

Create a Cook in Newton has a drop in program called "Do it yourself cake decorating" so you can decorate cakes ($8 or $14), cupcakes ($3) Mon-Fri from 11-6 or Sat 10-6. The facility is gorgeous and everyone in the two cooking classes we saw were having a blast making yummy smelling things! Great for rainy days to get them out of the house!
